AccessHealth Hosts Another Incredible Back-to-School Health Fair, Helping 300 Families in Richmond
Richmond, TX - AccessHealth's annual Back to School Health Fair, held their 2nd event past weekend in Richmond, was a tremendous success, offering free necessary health services and school supplies to local families as they prepare for the new school year.
300 families attended the event, which provided free health services, complimentary haircuts, sports physicals, fun activities, education materials and resources to children and their parents. Families also went home with their own Disaster Preparedness supplies bag thanks to the generous partners at United Way. Over 800 backpacks filled with school supplies were distributed to students, helping ease the financial burden on families and ensuring children are equipped for success.
In addition to school supplies, AccessHealth offered essential health services onsite, administering 123 immunizations, providing 40 sports physicals, 35 vision screenings and 20 haircuts.
"These events are a critical part of our mission to ensure every child starts school healthy, prepared, and supported,” said Palak Jalan, Interim CEO and COO of AccessHealth. “We are proud to serve the community of Richmond and are incredibly grateful to Reliant NRG, YMCA, Community Health Choice, Houston Methodist Sugar Land, LabCorp, Houston Fibroids, TX Endovascular, Chakilla & Judge Lewis White, Ambetter from Superior Healthplan, MED CARE Pediatrics Group, MD Anderson Cancer Center, All Star Storage, USI and Houston Federal Credit Union.”
