Dr. LaCindy Del Valle, M.D., FAAP, hailing from the heart of East Texas, is a distinguished medical professional celebrated for her commitment to pediatric care. Her academic journey commenced at Prairie View A&M University, where she earned her undergraduate degree. The corridors of knowledge led her to McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth), where she received her medical degree. Opting for a diverse residency experience, Dr. Del Valle chose the University of Oklahoma, allowing her to embrace the challenges and nuances of healthcare across urban, suburban, and rural landscapes. Since entering the medical arena in 2003, she has been a dedicated fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and proudly holds Board Certification in Pediatrics. Dr. Del Valle extends a comprehensive range of services to pediatric patients here at AccessHealth, addressing their needs from birth through the formative years up to age 18. Beyond her professional pursuits, Dr. Del Valle is a loving wife and devoted mother of two. About Dr. Nisha Varghese

Dr. Nisha Varghese, M.D., brings a wealth of expertise to our community here at AccessHealth. She earned her undergraduate degree from UT-Pan American (now UT-RGV) and furthered her education by obtaining a medical degree from the esteemed Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Dr. Varghese's commitment to excellence is evident in her completion of residency with Memorial Family Medicine in Sugar Land, TX, and a fellowship in Addiction Medicine, earning her a well-deserved subspecialty board certification. Board-certified in Family Medicine, Dr. Varghese is dedicated to providing a broad range of services to our patients. Beyond her professional achievements, she is a devoted mother of two and happily married. With proficiency in both English and Malayalam, Dr. Varghese ensures effective communication and cultural sensitivity in her practice, embodying the values that make AccessHealth a beacon of healthcare excellence.

Since her addiction medicine fellowship, Dr. Varghese has prescribed FDA approved medications for the treatment of opioid use disorder, tobacco use disorder and alcohol use disorder.  She is also able to help patients with other substance use disorders such as cannabis, sedative, and amphetamine use disorders.  She is well trained in managing acute withdrawal from substance use disorders. She can evaluate patients’ mental health and prescribe medications for co-occurring mental health disorders, specifically major depression, anxiety disorder, attention deficit disorders, and bipolar disorder.  Patients who are committed to their recovery and adherent to recommended medications and programs have been able to sustain their sobriety and be successful in their recovery journey.

Dr. Rabiah Zafar's academic journey includes earning her bachelor's degree from the University of California at Berkeley, followed by a distinguished medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pomona, California. Her commitment to excellence in women's healthcare led her to complete her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital/Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she distinguished herself as a chief resident. Post-residency, Dr. Zafar dedicated her skills to Northeast Texas at Tyler Family Circle of Care, showcasing her passion for community-oriented healthcare. She actively engages in various medical societies, including the American Osteopathic Association, American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. Recently making her home in the Richmond-Rosenberg area, Dr. Rabiah Zafar is poised and eager to extend her compassionate care to women in Fort Bend and surrounding counties. Her commitment to advancing healthcare led her to pursue a master's degree in Family Nurse Practice from Minnesota, opening doors to serve the underserved community at Gateway Internal Medicine in El Paso, Texas. The pursuit of academic excellence didn't end there; Kathra Wickam furthered her education by earning a Doctorate degree from the University of Texas at El Paso before making her mark in Houston. In practice since 2017, Wickam is a proud member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Residing in Richmond, she balances her professional life with the joys of motherhood and the cherished role of auntie to many. Kathra finds solace and joy in anything outdoors, reflecting her vibrant approach to both her personal and professional life.

Laura Villegas, hailing from the vibrant landscape of Colombia, brings a diverse cultural perspective to her role as a board-certified Women's Health Nurse Practitioner. Since joining AccessHealth in 2014, Ms. Villegas has been a steadfast advocate for the underserved community, making meaningful contributions to Women's Health. Her comprehensive approach spans the entirety of a woman's lifespan, covering well-woman exams, hormonal issues, menstrual irregularities, menopausal symptoms, PCOS, vaginal infections, and prenatal care. Laura also performs various procedures, including contraceptive implant insertions, colposcopies, and biopsies. Beyond her clinical commitments, Laura is actively involved in nurturing the next generation of Nurse Practitioners through her role as an educator. In her personal life, she finds joy in her family – a loving marriage and three energetic boys. About Jaime O’Byrne

Jaime O’Byrne brings a rich background and deep personal commitment to his role as an LCDC Counselor at AccessHealth. Originally from El Salvador, Jaime completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration at Universidad Leonardo Da Vinci. His journey into substance abuse counseling was fueled by his own experiences with recovery, inspiring him to help others overcome addiction.

Jaime has pursued extensive training in recovery techniques and relapse prevention, including the Genesis Process Relapse Prevention Program and the Terence Gorsky Relapse Prevention Model (CENAPS). His dedication to continuous learning ensures he provides the best possible care to those he serves.

Outside of his professional life, Jaime enjoys riding his mountain bike, spending time with family, working on home improvement projects, and indulging in science fiction and horror movies. He is also an avid reader of history and self-improvement books related to recovery, and regularly attends fellowship meetings, embodying a lifelong commitment to personal growth and community support.

Yaqueline Paredes, LCSW

Yaqueline Paredes, LCSW, is a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to serving the Houston community. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, with roots in Guatemala, Yaqueline brings a unique cultural perspective to her practice. She holds a Bachelor of Psychology and a Master of Social Work from the University of Houston, Main Campus.

With a decade of experience, Yaqueline has worked extensively with children, families, and adults, addressing a variety of life issues and mental health conditions. Growing up in an immigrant household with limited knowledge about mental health sparked her curiosity and drive to learn more. Her personal experiences and interactions with mental health professionals during her formative years inspired her to pursue a career in Social Work, with a commitment to helping others as she was helped.

Beyond her professional life, Yaqueline enjoys the outdoors, biking, walking her dog Flan, and participating in CrossFit. She loves challenging her physical abilities through hikes while also appreciating relaxing days by the pool and exploring new foods and restaurants.

Charissa Davis, LPC-S, LCDC-Intern, is a dedicated mental health professional with deep roots in Houston, Texas. She earned her undergraduate degree from Dillard University in New Orleans, Louisiana, and completed her Master's degree at the University of Houston. Charissa holds a Licensed Professional Counselor certification and a Counseling Supervisor certificate from the Texas Licensing Board of Professional Counselors. 

Since 2004, Charissa has contributed significantly to the mental health and social service fields in various roles. She is an active member of the Texas Counseling Association, ACU JEDI Committee, and proudly pledged with the first African-American sorority in the U.S. Her professional interests include therapeutic interventions and education focusing on trauma, depression, empowerment, and women's issues. Daniele White, LMSW, joins AccessHealth with extensive experience working with adults and adolescents in diverse settings, including jails, hospitals, and schools. A proud alumna of UT Austin, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion & Behavioral Science and a Master of Science in Social Work. Daniele’s passion for promoting health equity and serving marginalized communities stems from her background in public health and tobacco prevention. 

Her journey in social work began with facilitating health and wellness classes at Travis County Jail, a transformative experience that inspired her to pursue a master's degree. Through this role, Daniele engaged with individuals facing significant struggles, such as substance abuse, trauma, and challenges within the criminal justice system. This exposure deepened her understanding of addiction and recovery and, combined with her background in tobacco prevention, motivated her to specialize in substance use recovery.

Daniele is committed to creating spaces where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered to show up authentically. She strives to amplify their voices and co-create environments that foster genuine connection and healing. Outside of her professional life, Daniele is a self-proclaimed plant enthusiast, animal lover, and crafter. She aspires to integrate nature and art into her practice, enriching the therapeutic experience for her clients.
