Chief Population Health Officer Recognized for Outstanding Support

Palak Jalan, Chief Population Health Officer of AccessHealth, was recently honored by the Office of the Secretary of Defense for her exceptional support of employer participation in America's National Guard and Reserve Force. This support includes providing flexible scheduling, accommodating military leave, and offering financial assistance to employees who are serving in the Reserve Force.

The award was presented to Jalan by the Office of the Secretary of Defense's Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) program. ESGR is a Department of Defense program that aims to promote employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the law, and resolving conflicts between employers and service members.

Jalan was nominated by Charles Diaz, the AmeriCorps Health Navigation Manager who is in the U.S. Army Reserve. Diaz spoke highly of Jalan's support for him stating that Jalan went above and beyond to accommodate his service commitments.
