James Loomis

Dr. James Loomis, MD, BA, brings a wealth of experience and passion to his role at AccessHealth as our Psychiatrist. Born in Houston and raised in a small town in Montana, Dr. Loomis’s journey is a testament to his commitment to the science of the mind and improving lives. After completing his undergraduate degree with honors in linguistics and Spanish at the University of California, Davis, he returned to Texas to delve into psychological research at UT Austin. 

Driven by a desire to apply his knowledge to medicine, Dr. Loomis attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where he also completed his residency in psychiatry. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, showcasing his dedication and expertise in the field. When not engaged in his professional endeavors, Dr. Loomis enjoys sailing, a passion he discovered while living on the Gulf Coast. His diverse background and dedication to patient care make him a valuable asset to the AccessHealth team.
